GOODLETTSVILLE, TN – April 28, 2016 – Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Goodlettsville and White House have kindly invested back into the community in order to promote saving lives. Bill Gregory, Owner of Nashville-based Family Legacy recognized a unique opportunity to assist our local first responders through an initiative which could help save lives. The Vital ICE app can be downloaded on a smartphone through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Cole & Garrett Funeral Home is making this potentially life-saving app available for free in the community as a way of showing their gratitude for allowing them to serve you. This app serves in a manner similar to a medical alert pendant, saving some families an average of $25 per month.
In the event of an emergency, first responders can use the Vital ICE app to retrieve the user’s vital information. This app is linked to Emergency Medical Services nationally. The information shared through this app allows emergency staff access to this critical information in the event of an emergency. The app has an emergency contact feature which provides a simple way to send a group of emergency contacts a text message with an alert along with your location. It is a convenient way to store critical medical information such as current medications, allergies and answers to medical history questions. All information is stored safely on the user’s personal smart phone.
“This is a great way to give back to the community,” said Bill Gregory. “This innovative app is a simple way to get critical information in the hands of those who need it quickly. We are offering anyone in our community who is interested an access code for the free download. Just contact our funeral home to see how to get the code to download Vital ICE for free today.”
This app is available along with another new offering from Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services, the H.E.A.R.T. Plan – A Planning Guide for Aging Parents. The free guide is being made available to those who want to learn more about planning ahead and making well-educated and informed decisions as they care for their aging parents. This guide is a helpful tool providing a process to promote clear communication of needs and how to take action with an organized family team in place. “Many of the families we serve are currently caring for their aging parents. So we developed this handy guide to help them plan for the many tasks needed, such as deciding who will coordinate doctor visits, shopping, bill paying and more,” said Bill Gregory.
