Nancy Thompson

Nancy L. (Guthrie) Thompson, 94 of Goodlettsville passed away Friday, June 18, 2021. Born July 24, 1926 in Old Hickory, TN she was the daughter of the late Homer Guthrie and Mary Turbeville Guthrie. Nancy was also preceded in death by her husband, James R. “Dick” Thompson, Sr.; a brother, Marvin Guthrie; and a sister, Mary Grey Randolph. Nancy graduated from Goodlettsville High School where she was the homecoming queen, a cheerleader and played on the basketball team. In her youth she had lived in Virginia for a time. She also lived in Effingham, IL later in life while her late husband was working there. They returned to Goodlettsville in 1981. Nancy had been an active member of Goodlettsville First Baptist Church. A devoted and loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her three sons, James R. Thompson, Jr., Terry Neil Thompson, and Steven Wayne Thompson; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 11 am on Tuesday June 22nd at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
