Obituary

Eulas Everette Earl

October 18, 1927 - August 4, 2021

Eulas Everette Earl was born into this world on October 18th, 1927, and passed on to be with his Lord on August 4th, 2021 after a long, well-lived life. He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 52 years, Virginia Earl (nee Davis); his daughter Traci Humphrey and her husband, Eric; youngest daughter Rhonda Lewis, and her husband, Doug; grandson Jimmy Humphrey; grandson Jack Earl, and his wife, Katie, and their children, Ruby and Michael; and daughters Daphne Click (Kurt), Brenda Owensby (Rob), Kimberly Greenway (Jim), and Sheila Earl; sister Sally Davis; and numerous other beloved family members. Eulas was preceded in death by his father, Alvin; mother, Lula; brothers Jack, Pete, Duncan, Charles, Clyde, Jim, and AD.

Eulas served his country with honor for over 30 years, retiring from the Army as a Chief Warrant Officer (CW4). He served two tours in the Vietnam War and was a lifelong patriot, loving his country and fellow man. He was adamant that the Flag was flown at his home, and that it be maintained and in good condition according to military protocol. He had a strong work ethic and completed his Bachelor’s Degree In Business Administration from Campbell University.

He was a sports enthusiast, especially for the UT Vols.  He grew a garden almost every year. He was an early adopter of technology, tech-savvy and enjoyed being on the computer everyday. He was an avid reader and kept up with the daily sports and news events.

Eulas was a very active person, well into his 80s.  At around age 40, he took up running, working his way up to completing several marathons. After injuries made running long distances impossible, he continued his daily exercise with hours on the elliptical machine and long walks with his wife.

Eulas was a wonderful husband;  a dedicated and loving Dad and Granddad whose first priority was to be involved in every aspect of their lives.  He was often sought out for his wise counsel.  Eulas was intelligent with a quick wit and great sense of humor.  His kindness and love for others exemplified The Golden Rule.  Even near death, he was consoling his family members, always concerned for their well being.  He was the rare person whom everyone loved and thought highly of.  He will be dearly missed here on earth, until we meet again.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Ln, Nashville, TN 37221 on August 12th, 2021 at 11am with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Wounded Warrior Project.
