Charles Thompson Sr.

Charles Ross Thompson, Sr., 89, of Goodlettsville passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Skyline Medical Center.

Born in Nashville on May 24, 1932, Ross was the son of the late Rayford O. Thompson and Frances M. Neer Thompson-Ralph. He was preceded in death by son, Charles Ross Thompson, Jr. and two brothers, James Richard “Dick” Thompson and Rayford O. Thompson, Jr. Ross retired after many years at Nashville Electrographics. A hard worker, Ross had a strong work ethic that he passed on to his family. He was also a farmer and known to be a great cook. Ross was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and D-Daddy to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved and cherished his family. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Givens Thompson, his daughters, Stephanie (Ron) Mathis and Barbara (Steve) Lee, his son, Nick Thompson, his grandchildren, Amanda Lee (Ross) Cortese and Joseph Ross Lee and great-grandchildren, Nolan Cortese and Sutton Cortese. He is also survived by brothers, Chester Thompson and Larry Thompson as well as sister, Betty Ruth Ralph. He has extended family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday, March 25th at 3 pm at the Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 3216 Long Hollow Pike, Hendersonville, TN. An hour of visitation with the family will be held from 2 pm until 3 pm immediately prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice. www.alivehospice.org
