Alma Moore Smith of Goodlettsville, TN entered heaven on May 25, 2021 at the age of 99. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Frank Allison Smith; parents F. Frank Moore and Ruth Coleman Moore; brothers, Thomas Moore (infant), Murray F. Moore, Ennis C. Moore and James M. Moore; sisters, Lucille Moore Gray and Joyce Moore Donlon, nephew Tommy Gray and niece Freida Gray. Survived by sister Nell Moore (Doug) Clay.

"Aunt Alma" is also survived by beloved nieces and nephews Donald Gray, Jill (Dixon) Cox, Troy Dixon; Patti (Moore) Starlin, Greg Moore; Pat Donlon, Bill Donlon, Mark Donlon, Ruth (Donlon) Bowles;
Shearon (Moore) Dickens, Melanie (Moore) McClain, Julie (Moore) Dillick, Chris Moore;
Jerri Lynn (Clay) Charron, Lucy Karen Clay, John D. Clay; Keith Moore, Scott Moore and Todd Moore.
Alma was loved by many great-nieces and great-nephews and she never missed sending them a birthday card. The family expresses their deep appreciation to her special friends Tim and Jaimee Johnson and their daughter Cheyenne, Alma's "honorary granddaughter". Deepest gratitude is also extended to Alma's caregiver Vionne Williams, who helped Alma enjoy her last months to the fullest extent possible, along with her helper, Sonya McCall-Barnes.

Alma loved to read and travel and she enjoyed telling stories of her trips. She was a long time member of historic Tulip Street United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for years. After working 15 years at the State of Tennessee Health Department (until 1955), she worked 21 years in the Appellate Division for the Federal Government with the Internal Revenue Service, retiring in 1976. Later, she spent many years helping her niece, Lucy Karen Clay, at her business, Expressways to Learning. Alma was a long time member of the American Business Women's Association and National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Active pall bearers: Pat Donlon, Bill Donlon, Mark Donlon, John D. Clay, Troy Dixon, Tony Bowles, Justin Medley and John Charron. Honorary pall bearers are all nephews and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 29 from 9:30-11:30 followed by a Celebration of Life service lead by Terry Cox at 11:30 at Cole and Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville, TN. Graveside service at 1:00, Historic SpringHill Cemetery, Nashville, TN.
