Wilma Jean Simmons, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed in Nashville Tennessee on June 22, 2024 at the age of 90. Born October 21, 1933, in Nashville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Dorris Farmer and Ruby Gregory Farmer.

Jean led a fulfilling life as a seamstress for Proffitt's Department Store (formerly Castner Knotts) until her retirement. Her proudest accomplishment was her unwavering faith as a devoted Christian who was an active member of the Bible Baptist Church in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Remembered for her feisty yet caring personality, Jean's most cherished memories revolve around her family. She poured love and dedication into the lives of her husband of 72 years, Elvis Earl Simmons; daughter Wanda (Roy) Morgan; son Michael (Rhonda) Simmons; grandchildren Jason (Jennifer) Morgan, John (Brooke) Morgan, and Brandy Tidwell; great-grandchildren Carolyn, Jacob, Eric, Jack, Logan, Ava, and Zander; as well as her surviving sisters Charlotte (John) Hale, Joanne (Ron) Renaud, and step-sister Bobbie West; brother Landon Farmer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Peggy Mundy; brothers Walter McGinnis and William McGinnis; her step brother George Holt; and her fur babies Princess and Jasmine.

Jean had a special bond with her family and was known to indulge in thrilling adventures with them - even braving the rides at Disney well into her 80s. Her presence brought joy and warmth to all those around her.
