NIES, Walter Leo - Formerly of Turon, KS, died of cancer on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Addie Nies; son, Martin (Janet) Nies; daughters, Gloria (Duke) Sutherland; Bonnie Shawver; brothers, Melvin Nies and Clifford Nies; grandchildren, Cari (Mark) Alsip, Cassie (Kevin) Kenerson, Sarah and J. R. Shawver; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Molly Alsip. Funeral services for Mr. Nies will be 4 p.m., Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville. Pastor Ron Follett will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 - 4 p.m. Saturday.
