Vernon Stinson

William Vernon Stinson, age 85, passed away at his home in Goodlettsville on July 25, 2019. He was born in Hillsboro, TN on August 17, 1933 to the late William and Bertha Stinson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Odean Stinson, and his sister Wilma Taylor. Survived by his son, Darren (Sharon) Stinson; daughter, Michelle (David) Sperlich; grandchildren, Jacob Stinson, Riley Sperlich, Caleb Stinson, Carly Sperlich; step-grandchildren, Faith Henley, Madison Henley, and Luke Henley, sister, Retha Miller. Vernon was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was retired from Werthan Industries in Nashville, and a member of Goodlettsville Church of Christ. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a hard working Christian. He loved his family very much and was a truly devoted friend. Vernon also had a love for antique cars, and loved to spend time with his friends in the Model A Club. Vernon enjoyed family game nights, camping trips, and watching his grandkids sporting events. Visitation will be at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville Sunday from 2-8 pm., and Monday July 29 from 9 am until service time at 10 am with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
