Carrie Sue Wynne Coombs, 101, of Hendersonville passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021. Born on August 10, 1919 in Greenville, KY, Sue was the daughter of the late Sellus Bolden Wynne and Jennie Lorena Brizendine Wynne. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John William Coombs and also her son, John Wynne Coombs. After graduating from high school she attended Bowling Green's "Business University" for secretarial studies. A longtime Goodlettsville resident, Mrs. Coombs had worked at JC Penney for 20 years. She was a member of the Goodlettsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Sue is survived by her daughter, Carolyn S. Taylor (Fitz-William); 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and daughter-in-law, Linda. A celebration of life service will be held at the church on Sunday, June 27th at 3:00pm. An hour of visitation will be held beginning at 2:00pm. Private family interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Greenville, KY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Nashville Rescue Mission, Avalon Hospice, or the American Heart Association.
