Sgt. Barnes

Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Lena Carver Barnes, one brother; Robert Earl Barnes, and three sisters; Thelma Beasley, Minnie Mae Hansen and Gladys Baker. Mr. Barnes retired from the Nashville Metropolitian Police Department after serving many years and as a Mason, served many other charities. He is survived by a son; Chuck Barens, two daughters; Joyce Pomeroy and Judy Ballentine, two brothers; Frank Barnes and Virgil "Buddy" Barnes, five grandsons; one granddaughter, eleven great grandchildren and a special friend; Evelyn Andrews. A graveside service will be conducted 10am Friday, Sept. 1, at Hendersonville Memory Gardens with Pastor Phil Barnes officiating. The family will receive friends from 2pm til 8pm, Thursday, Aug. 31, at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
