Ruby “Mary” Parker Templeton, age 91, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away in her home on April 25th, 2026. Born August 24, 1934, in Greenbrier, TN, Mary was a graduate of Greenbrier High School, Class of 1952.

 Following high school graduation, Mary worked at National Life & Accident Insurance Co., where she was recruited for having the fastest typing time and shorthand in her school. She dedicated her skills there until 1957, when she married her husband of 67 years, Don Templeton. Mary was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of American Colonists, and the Ridgetop Historical Society. 

Mary enjoyed many things in life, first and foremost her faith, which guided her throughout her life. She had a passion for adventure, whether she was traveling, cruising the Caribbean with Don, or visiting with her many friends. An active spirit, she loved playing bridge, bowling, and golfing. Above all, Mary was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a loyal friend to the many people who loved her. 

Left to cherish memories of Mary are her sister, Doreen West; her brother, Duane Parker; her granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Emily Templeton Ford (Will) and MaryKate Templeton Buckner (Brian); and four great-grandchildren: Ruby, Clara, and Preston Ford, and Avery Buckner. 

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Don Templeton, her parents Jay Parker and Bessie Warden, her son Mauriece Dale Templeton, and her grandson Graham Templeton.

 A joint visitation honoring Don and Mary will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville, TN on Friday, May 1, 2026 from 9:00 - 10:00 am. A private graveside service will be held at a future date
