Rosemary Louise Smith, 74, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on Thursday, September 12, 2019. Born June 29, 1945 in San Jose, California, Rosemary was the daughter of the late Albert Gomez and Lula (Rios) Gomez. She was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Emma Heitman. Rosemary loved her family above all else. Her welcoming and inviting spirit extended to those who were within her family's circle of friends. She was a selfless person who had tremendous leadership skills; although she would be reluctant to say so. She was also very intelligent and possessed a great sense of humor. Rosemary loved a good party. So much so, that if the party wasn't particularly good, she would make it so. In her free-time she enjoyed crafting and shopping and more recently she developed a love of UT women's sports, especially softball which was something she shared with her husband of 50 years, Gary. She is survived by her husband, Gary; her three sons, David (Patricia) Smith, Phillip (Leah) Smith, and Steven Smith and his fiance' Sharon; 6 grandchildren, Misty Heitman, Keely Gilbert, Brianna Hill, Garrett Smith, Jake Smith, and Nathan Smith; 6 great-grandchildren with another one on the way; her brothers, Albert (Judy) Gomez, Alfred (Claudia) Gomez and Marcus (Mary) Gomez; extended family, Gilbert Esparza, Carina Bethel and their families; and her special friends Vicky Wyatt, Kathy Anderson and Jan Lobinger. Visitation for Rosemary will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, Monday from 4 to 8 PM and Tuesday from 10 to 11 AM. A Life Celebration Service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at the funeral home followed by interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
