Robert Finch Jr., born on July 10, 1966, passed away on April 21, 2026. He was a man whose life was marked by kindness, generosity, and a joyful spirit. Those who knew Robert often described him as laid back and caring, someone who would literally give you the shirt off his back. His friends and family fondly remember the big kid at heart who loved to have fun and cut up, bringing light and laughter wherever he went.
Robert is preceded in death by his father Robert Finch, stepfather Kenneth Graves, and his nephew Ryan Gifford. He is survived by his children Ashley Finch and Dallas Marshall Finch, his mother Marie Graves, and his sister Stacy (Mark) Thompson. His is also survived by his aunts and uncle: Mary Houseman, Ruby Gilley, James Gilley, Marilyn Lawson, Gladys Norris, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Robert had a deep passion for football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, and he delighted in attending car shows with a special appreciation for antique cars. His love of spicy foods was legendary; the spicier the dish, the better he liked it, and friends often joked that he ate the kitchen sink. These interests were not just hobbies but windows into his lively and enthusiastic character.
Robert’s daughter remembers him as a steadfast presence in her life, always there to support and set an example of how she would later wish to be as a parent herself. She has fond memories of spending time with him at the beach as a child. His son cherishes the memories they shared working on cars together, recalling how proud Robert was of his son’s skillful hands. These moments were not only about fixing engines but also about building a bond filled with respect and admiration. The family’s memories reflect a man of unwavering dedication, kindness, and strength.
Friends and family are invited to honor Robert’s life at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Goodlettsville, located at 127 N Main St, Goodlettsville, TN 37072. A visitation will be held on April 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed immediately by the funeral service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Later that afternoon, burial services will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
