Robert Cantrell

Robert Clay Cantrell, 38, of Hendersonville, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022. Born April 8, 1984 in Nashville, TN, Clay was the son of Janie (Escue) Sheppard and the late Robert Cantrell. Clay was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Rita Ann Cantrell, and his grandmother, Dorothy Christine Briley Escue. Clay graduated from Beech High School with the class of 2002. He had been employed by Coleman Moving and Storage where he was known for his strong work ethic. Clay was a devoted father and loved doing things with his children. He especially enjoyed watching movies. He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Alexus Cantrell; his son, Robert “C.J.” Cantrell; his parents, Michael and Janie Sheppard; his brothers, Lance Sheppard, Chad Sheppard, Timothy Summers, Chris Summers; his sisters, Faye Cantrell, Christy Irwin, and Lindsay Sheppard; his grandmother, Ina Faye Cantrell and a host of friends. Visitation for Clay will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, TN on Saturday, May 14th from 10 am until 1 pm. A Life Celebration Service will follow at 1 pm officiated by Brother Tim Sharp.
