Robert Bates

BATES, Robert O. "Bob", May 27, 2013, age 88 of Goodlettsville. Preceded in death by his first wife, Eva Vetetoe Bates; son, Steve Bates; four brothers and three sisters. Survived by his wife, Billie Jean Parker Bates; son, Gary (Joan) Bates; daughters, Cheryl (Richard) Smith; Angela (Jim) Holloway; step-children, Bob Parker, Amy Shonting; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter. Mr. Bates served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was retired from Neuhoff Packing and Purolator Courier, and was a member of Madison Creek Baptist Church. Visitation will be at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville Wednesday from 2-8 pm, and Thursday from 12 Noon until service time at 2pm, with Larry Eckman, officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
