Portia Pollard Eidson, a proud Shackle Island resident, died February 24, 2020 at age 99. She was the youngest daughter of the late George W. Pollard and the late Elizabeth Ray Pollard. Also preceding her in death were her beloved husband of 44 years, Pat K. Eidson, her devoted sisters Katherine McMurtry and Ruby Stone, her nephews Jerry and Steve Stone, and her half-sister Linda Hankins.
She was a longtime, proud DuPont employee and a member of Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her nephew Donald (Betty) Landers of White House, niece Cathy Stone of Goodlettsville, nephew's wife Nancy Stone of Shackle Island, and half-sister Susie (Don) Brown of Tampa. Also surviving are great-nephews Nathan and David, and great-nieces Anita, Elizabeth, Cynthia, Dianne, Liz and Jeannie.
Thank you to her caregiver, Jane Sigler, who fed the birds, listened to her stories, and brightened her days. Visitation at Cole and Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville will be Sunday March 1st from 12:30 - 2:00 PM. Funeral will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jeff DeWees officiating. She will be buried alongside her husband at Beech Cemetery.
