FOSTER, Opal Sloan Williams Age 93, Opal's soul left this life to be with Christ on August 26, 2013 at Quality Health Care of Lebanon, TN. She was born in Clay County on August 16, 1920. The daughter of Albert and Bessie (Davis) Sloan, she was one of nine children. She moved to Goodlettsville at age five and spent most of her life there. At a young age, she became a Christian and adhered to the faith to the end. She was a devoted member of Goodlettsville Church of Christ, which she began attending in 1925. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Ewing Williams and Clyde Foster; son, Tony Williams; grandson, Albert Whited; sisters, Inez McGavock and Ophelia Sircy; brothers, Cortez, Lilbert and Junior Sloan. She is survived by her sisters, Pauline (Bob) Ragan, Georgia Tyree and Betty (Leland) Hollows; daughters, Sandra (Burton) Whited and Janice Newlin; grandchildren, Andy (Shannon) Whited, Melanie (David) Speck, Joy (Greg) Bennett, Jenny (Tim) Scott and Jeff (Pauline) Newlin; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Brian Whited, Sloan, Shelbie and Britten Bennett, Dalton and Cole Scott, Caden and Mia Newlin. Family will receive friends Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 4-8 p.m., at Cole & Garrett, Goodlettsville. Service will be conducted by Burton Whited Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 10 a.m., with visitation 1 hr. prior. Family and friends to serve as Pallbearers. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
