Mildred K. Harris, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend to many, passed away on February 2, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on March 26, 1941, Mildred was a remarkable woman known for her steadfast determination and deep compassion for family and friends. Those who knew her appreciated her stubborn yet kind-hearted nature, which left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.

A dedicated mother, Mildred instilled values of hard work and love in her sons, Mike Hibdon and Timothy Hibdon (Connie). Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Amanda Suffridge (Janet) and Amber Marie Hibdon, as well as her great-grandchildren, Aaron Suffridge and Wyatt Suffridge. Mildred was incredibly proud of her family, with her grandchildren holding a special place in her heart. She often fondly referred to herself as “Grandma,” a title she wore with pride.

She is also survived by her sister, Janeice Shrum.

Mildred’s passions were as varied as they were vibrant. She had a profound love for animals and children, which mirrored her nurturing spirit. Her green thumb shone in her exquisite flower gardens, where she found joy in cultivating beauty. Cooking was another of her great loves, and she often prepared delightful meals for her family, creating memories around the dining table. Additionally, she enjoyed unwinding in front of the television, particularly reveling in Westerns.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Harris, whose absence she felt deeply in her everyday life, as well as her grandchild, Brandi Lundy, and nine beloved siblings. These losses shaped her character and strengthened her resolve to create a loving environment for her family.

In honoring the memory of Mildred K. Harris, loved ones are invited to a visitation on February 6, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Goodlettsville, TN. A Celebration of Life will take place the following day, February 7, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM and concluding at 11:00 AM.

Mildred’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and an unwavering spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
