Melvin Ray Belcher, 69, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at his home in Greenbrier. Born December 30, 2019 in Nashville, TN he was the son of the late Merlin H. Belcher and Lennie C. (Beard) Belcher. Melvin was also preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Christy. Melvin had worked for Peterbilt Motors in Madison for over 30 years. He retired from the paint department. A quiet, soft-spoken man, he was known to be a good listener and always took his time when answering a question or commenting on someone else's thought or comment. He was a hard worker and could pretty much fix anything. He liked hunting and shooting sports in his spare time, but he got the most pleasure out of being involved with family. He especially enjoyed time spent with his grandsons and watching them play sports. Melvin is survived by his loving wife of nearly 40 years, Patricia (Wilburn) Belcher; his daughter, Karen Belcher; his son, Michael (Shelly) Belcher; grandsons, Collin and Mason Belcher; his brother, Gary (Trix) Belcher; nephew, Gary (Tess) Belcher, Jr.; niece, Chelsea Belcher; great-niece, Raven Belcher; and Mother-in-law, Peggy Wilburn. Visitation for Melvin will be held Wednesday from 4-8 PM and Thursday from 12 - 2 PM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home Goodlettsville. A Life Celebration Service will be held Thursday at 2 PM.
