Born in Bloomington, IL on October 13, 2005 Departed on October 13, 2005 and resided in Hendersonville, TN

Blair U.S.M.C. Retired, Lt. Col. Richard Raymond of Hendersonville a wonderful husband and father went home on Oct. 12, 2005 at the age of 74. Retiring in 1975 after active service in Korea and Vietnam and peace time service in the Mediterranean area, Japan and Okinawa. Awarded two bronze star medals with combat "V", the Purple Heart and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with palm. Graduate of Illinois Weslyan. Appointed Executive Director of the Tennessee Telephone Association in 1979 and retired from that position in 1998 after 19 years. Survived by his wife Marylee Wallace Blair, son Richard , Jr. of Gilbert, IL, daughter Elizabeth McKinney of Fairfax, VA, stepsons Dustin Bailey of Greenville, SC and Michael Rogers of Goodlettsville, TN, stepdaughters Christy Jackson of Atlanta, GA and Shari Campbell of Hendersonville, TN, four grandchildren and five step grandchildren. Richard was a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville where he served on various committees and as president of Methodist Men. He was a life member of the Marine Corps League, the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Military Officers Association. He was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Hendersonville, member of Kiwanis of Hendersonville and president of United Methodist Men. Visitation will be 2pm til 4pm Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005 at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church and the memorial service starting at 4pm with Rev. Allen Weller officiating. Honorary pallbearers: Kiwanis Club of Hendersonville, Wesley Sunday School Class of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church and Military Officers Association. Interment service will be 11am Monday, Oct. 17, at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd United Methodist Church Memorial Fund 525 New Shackle Island Road; Hendersonville, TN. 37075.
