Lloyd W Spalding, 88, of Hendersonville and formerly a long time Goodlettsville resident passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at home. Born in Robertson County, February 16, 1932 he was the son of the late Granville Spalding and Jessie Webb Spalding. Lloyd was also preceded in death by his wife of nearly 69 years, Betty Ann Hughey Spalding; and a brother, Joe Everett Spalding. Lloyd worked as a plaster and cement mason throughout his life. He was a hard worker who was also soft spoken and always ready to lend a hand to others. He loved his family and had worked on many of their homes as well. He will be fondly remembered as a man of faith who was also an independent man who was always smiling and ready with a joke. Lloyd is survived by his children, Gary (Ellen) Spalding, Gayle (Ricky) McWhirter, and Ronnie (Yvette) Spalding; a brother, Nathan (Mabel Jo) Spalding; a sister, Joan (Glen) Pillow; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Visitation will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, TN on Thursday, February 11th from 4 to 7 PM and Friday, February 12th from 11 AM to 1 PM. A life celebration service will be held at the funeral home Friday at 1 PM followed by interment at Greenbrier City Cemetery.
