Waite, Jr. Kirk Cambron
Nashville - After a long and multi-faceted life, Attorney Kirk Cambron Waite Jr., 84, passed away December 10th, peacefully surrounded by family. He grew up in Murfreesboro, TN with his mother and beloved Harrison family and in Pensacola, FL with his father and beloved Waite family. He attended MTSU and Vanderbilt Law School. He married Sue Ingram and served in the US Army Infantry Division of JAG and they were stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas. They moved to Nashville, TN where their son Brian Kirk was born and then later Karen Sue. He practiced law in Nashville and ultimately Brentwood, TN in the Mooreland Mansion where he would retire in 2009.
Throughout his legal career, his professional leadership included serving on the board at Lakeshore Nursing Home. He served as song leader and elder at Riverwood Church of Christ as well.
Whether in his private practice or while serving in the church, clients and families remember Kirk because of his compassion for people and attentiveness to their needs. His family will remember him for his faith and unconditional love of family.
Two years after his wife Sue's passing in 2006, he married Sandell Ray, widowed since Roger's passing seven years prior. Their marriage of almost 12 years blessed them both and their families with love, humor and faithfulness.
Survivors include his wife, Sandell Ray Waite; children, Brian (Leah), Karen (Robert); Grandchildren, Robert "Will" Stilts, Jr., Rachel Stilts Simon (Devin), Jake Stilts, Miranda Waite, Selina Waite, Devon Waite; Brothers, Warren (Susan) Waite, Sam (Pam) Waite, and Peter Waite. Sandell's stepdaughters, Diane Nelson and Carlotta Ray. Four step grandchildren. Nine step great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents K.C. Waite, Sr., Blanche Waite Lewis; stepmother Bonnie Waite; Wife of 46 years Sue Ingram Waite.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held on Saturday, December 14, visitation 10 -11 am, at Riverwood Church of Christ, 1904 McGavock Pike, Nashville, TN. A Celebration of Life service will follow the gathering at 11 am. Final resting place will be Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
