Julie May Darrow, a beloved dog breeder and groomer specializing in Maltese, passed away on August 3, 2023. She was known for her expertise in breeding and showing champion dogs. Julie was born on May 19, 1944, and had a strong passion for canines throughout her life.

Julie's career as a dog breeder and groomer brought her much joy and fulfillment. She dedicated countless hours to caring for her furry companions, ensuring they were always in perfect condition. Her love for dogs was unparalleled, and she often joked that she loved them more than humans. Julie's commitment to the well-being of her precious animals touched the lives of many.

She cherished every moment and lived life to the fullest. Julie had an adventurous spirit and loved to embark on cruises, went out of town for gambling, and explore new destinations. Her love for buffet meals was well-known among friends, family, and her canine company who would benefit from the leftovers. Julie embraced nature wholeheartedly and sought solace in the outdoors whenever she could.

One thing that set Julie apart was her straightforwardness; she had no filter when it came to expressing herself. She would always tell you what was on her mind without hesitation. This quality, though sometimes surprising, earned her respect from those who knew her well.

In her leisure time, Julie found great joy in spending time with her dogs. They were not just pets but treasured members of her family. She also shared an interest in embroidery with her husband Wendell, creating beautiful pieces together.

Julie will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her throughout the years. She is survived by her son Anthony Sloan; daughters Kim (Eric) Sloan and Monica Restrepo; daughters-in-law Cindy Restrepo and Tammy Restrepo; sister; Dian (Mike) Lynch, grandchildren, Shawn Stephen Sloan, Jeremy Lee Wayne Sloan, Daniel Evan Waggoner, Britney Ray Broach, Benjamin Tyler Broach, Michael Antonio Restrepo, Charlie Rowland Boyle, IV, Monique Alexis Hutsell, Marley Anjoli Restrepo, Aeryn Lydia Restrepo, Hannah Elizabeth Restrepo, and Jensen Sloan; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Julie in death are her parents Floyd Haskell and Willie Frances Hiland Stockton, her beloved husband Wendell Darrow, and sons Tony Restrepo and John Restrepo. She held dear memories of her dear ones and cherished the time she spent with them.

Visitation services for Julie May Darrow will be held on August 5, 2023, at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. The visitation will begin at 1:00pm and conclude at 4:00pm.

Julie's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her success in breeding and showing champion dogs. Her dedication and expertise in this realm brought pride to both herself and the canine community. Her impact on the dog breeding world will not be forgotten.
