Jo Newman

NEWMAN, Jo, age 84, died July 5, 2010 after a long battle of cancer. Born September 8, 1925 in Nelsonville, Ohio. Graduated Lancaster Business School 1945. Retired from Cigna in 1988. Preceded in death by parents, Guy and Mildred Hawk; brothers, Charles William Hawk and Tom A. Hawk; husband, of 60 years, Carl Newman. Survived by sons; William Newman, Summerville, TN., Mark Debbie Newman, Flowery Branch, GA.; brother, Sam Hawk; sister, Fran Parker; 2 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, special niece, Karla Masterson; several other nieces and a nephew. She loved her bridge games at Vanderbilt Bridge Club and Hillwood Country Club. A special thanks to these friends and to Alive Hospice.
