James Leslie McCormick

June 13, 1989 — March 31, 2024

James Leslie McCormick, affectionately known as J.L., was born in Slidell, Louisiana, on June 13, 1989. He was the beloved son of Jessica (Carl) Hayes and Ricky McCormick. J.L. grew up alongside his sister, Beth McCormick, and his brother, Josh McCormick. His family circle also included his maternal grandparents, Irvin and Linda Templet, as well as his paternal grandparents, Pat and Lad McCormick. J.L. is also survived by his uncles: Winston (Cristina) Templet, Irvin (Grace) Templet, and Barry (Debra) McCormick.

From a young age, J.L. showed a zest for life and a love for people. He was a social butterfly who brightened the lives of those around him with his warm smile and caring nature. J.L. had a passion for music and eagerly anticipated attending the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, each year. He found joy in cooking delicious meals for his family and friends, creating lasting memories through shared moments around the dining table.

In addition to his immediate family members, J.L. is survived by his niece Chadley English and his nephew Hagen English.  Last, but not least, he is survived by his dog Emily and her three newborn puppies. Together with a multitude of relatives, friends, and loved ones, they mourn the loss of a remarkable individual who brought light and love into their lives.

J.L. McCormick will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and generosity will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know him.

May he rest in peace.
