Helen Gail Sorrells Washburn went home to be with her Lord Thursday November 18, 2021. She was a woman of faith whose strength and hope came from her personal relationship with Christ. With a beautiful smile that never faded, her love for others, especially her family and friends, was her greatest gift. She will always be an inspiration to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, H. G. Heath and Mary Frances Nelson Heath; her husbands, Harold Sorrells and Ray Washburn; and by her nephew, Nick Horner. Gail was a graduate of Hendersonville High School. She worked many years at Exit Real Estate in Hendersonville and continued to work there part time during her retirement. She loved to travel. She and her husband Raymond enjoyed many adventures together traveling through Europe and cruising the Caribbean. Gail was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is survived by her sons, Ray (Mary) Clayton, Jr., and Michael Clayton; step-children, Anne Washburn, Rachel (Bill) Smith and Clayton (Carole) Washburn; sister, Lisa (David) Tittle; grandchildren, Whitney, Ray, Justin, Krystalyn, Craig, Carla, Cody, Brennen, Ava, Chandler, Clay and Carrington; nephew, Cody and several great-grandchildren. Visitation for Gail will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, Monday, November 22nd from 4 to 7 pm and Tuesday from 10 – 11 am. A celebration of life service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 11 am followed by interment at Beech Cemetery, Hendersonville.
