Grover "Andy" Anderson, Retired United States Air Force, Chief Master Sergeant, 87 was escorted by Jesus to his eternal home February 7, 2019. He was born in Albany, GA to the late Henry and Viola (Lokey) Anderson. He was a loving dedicated husband to his late wife, Cleone Anderson, for 66 years.
He was a remarkable father to daughters, Connie Anderson, Anita Watts and Daphne Anderson, as well as to his "adopted son" Dave Salyer. He was also a wonderful father-in-law to Terry Watts, Anita's husband.
Grover was a very proud "Granddaddy" to his only grandchild, Chris Edwards and his wife Reanna. He was a fun loving Great "Granddaddy" to their precious children Marley & Mason who loved sharing their experiences of school days. He encouraged them to study hard and to always give their very best.
Grover "Andy" Anderson proudly served his country for 20 years in the USAF where he served in Vietnam. He retired in 1971 from Barksdale AFB in Shreveport, LA. After retirement, he was a Department Manager at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in Albany, GA for 17 years. Education was always important to him and in 1978 he graduated from Albany Junior College, Summa Cum Laude, with an Associate of Science Management degree.
Grover was a member of White House First United Methodist Church. He was a great man of God with a loving servant's heart. He lived life in such a manner that the legacy of his life ...will live forever.
Special appreciation to Willowbrook Hospice Staff and our private caregivers Linda Ainley, Sabrina Bowman, Stacy Chatham, John Grady and Lori Jaeckel. Your excellent care, love & support will always be remembered.
A Celebration of Life Service, with Full Military Honors, will be announced at a later date.
