Gregory Wood

Gregory M. Wood,74, of Goodlettsville was called home to be with his Lord following a tragic incident Saturday, July 4, 2020. Born January 13, 1946 in Nashville, TN, Greg was the son of the late Bernice Lee Wood and Anne (Roberts) Wood. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Jan Gilliland and Druscilla Wood. Greg was a machinist by trade and had worked for Peterson Tool for 45 years, most of which as a supervisor. An avid runner and overall fitness enthusiast, Greg had already logged more than 600 miles this year. He was a devoted father and grandfather and enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Greg also loved to fish, baseball and collecting guns. He took great pride in the care of his yard and pool which became a center for his family to gather each summer. Perhaps above all, Greg was a very kind and Christian man who truly loved his Lord. He is survived by his daughters, Angie Wood Murray and her husband Richie Murray, and Julie Anna Wood; grandchildren, Jacob Nix Murray, Kaylee Anna Frensley, Lucas Aaron Murray and Gregory Creed Murray; his "Sweetheart" of 15 years, Suzanne Philpot and his many friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 8th from 4 to 7 PM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville. A private, family graveside service will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery.
