Scholz, George Herbert
Retired Delaware State Trooper
87, of Nashville, TN died Tuesday, March 18, 2008.
During his career he served in the Illinois National Guard 129th infantry company 33rd Division out of Aurora, IL. In 1939 he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and served 6 years. Upon discharge he moved to Millsboro, DE. and enlisted in the Delaware National Guard where he served 5 years in the 945th, the AAA Battalion. In 1951 he joined the Delaware State Police
where he served 20 years, retiring in 1971.
He was born Sept. 11, 1921- Madison WI., and was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 63 years, Elsie, and his parents George Henry Scholz and Augusta Scholz.
He is survived by a brother, Richard Scholz, of New Port Richey, FL.; a daughter, Karen Comstock, of Felton, DE.; a granddaughter, Lori VanPelt, of Bridgeville, DE.; a grandson, Larry Morgan, of Salisbury, MD.; and a great grandson, Andrew Smith of Georgetown, DE.
Friends may call on the family at the West Harpeth Funeral Home in Nashville, TN. On Monday, March 24, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m..
Interment will be in the Middle Tennessee Veterans' Cemetery near Nashville at 1 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008.
