George Hurt

George Lewis Hurt, age 82, of Goodlettsville, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014 at his home. Mr. Hurt was retired from Peterbilt Motors and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Rae Hurt; brothers, Erenest, Tommy, and John Hurt; and sisters, Nona Bell Baker, and Milbry Elaine Hurt. Mr. Hurt is survived by his sons, Danny Hurt (Virginia), John Hardy Hurt; daughter, Judy Darlene Hurt Petitt (David); 6 grandchildren; brothers, Wayne (Doris) Hurt, and Joe (Sharon) Hurt; a sister, Betty Elizabeth Hayes (Bill); and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4-8pm Tuesday at the Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Mount Juliet Memorial Gardens.
