George Thomas Hagan

George Thomas Hagan, lovingly known as Tom, a beloved husband, brother, father, and friend, was born on September 25, 1961, in Nashville, TN. He departed this world on July 18, 2025, in Springfield, TN, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that will be cherished by all who knew him. Tom is preceded in death by his parents JC and LaDonne Hagan, and his father-in-law Don Brown. Tom is reunited in heaven with his loving wife of 30 years, Deborah Hagan. He is survived by his daughter MariCatherine Hagan, sister Michelle (Bill) Snyder, brother Chris (Tonya) Hagan, brother Eric (Daphne) Hagan, brother-in-law Steve (Lutrica) Brown, brother-in-law Tim (Deb) Brown, and mother-in-law Mary Brown. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Ben Bonabi, Philip (Alex) Bonabi, Haley (Chris) Hagan-Foster, Siera (Bryce) Fulford, Micah Hagan, Callie Hagan, Jeremy (Angela) Brown, and Elissa Brown, as well as several great nieces and nephews: Greyson and Harper Bonabi, Aleisha Foster, and Noah and Gwen Brown. Although Tom has left his earthly home, his spirit will continue to live on in heaven and within the hearts and minds of those who held him close.

Tom dedicated his professional life to serving others, embarking on a fulfilling career as the director of development for Hearld of the Truth Ministries. His unwavering commitment to uplifting children’s lives through his work with children's homes defined his character. His impact in this field was immeasurable, reflecting his deep compassion and desire to make a difference in the world.

An accomplished individual, Tom graduated from Portland High School and proudly earned his bachelor’s degree from Lipscomb University. His journey through education laid the foundation for the remarkable man he would become. With a strong Christian faith at the center of his life, he found his calling in serving the Lord, guiding many in his role as a minister, preacher, deacon, and elder within the Church of Christ. He dedicated countless hours teaching Bible classes, instilling values and wisdom into the hearts of those around him.

Tom was known for his selfless and kind-hearted personality, always willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He had a natural ability to make others feel at ease, bringing comfort and laughter into their lives. Often seen with a twinkle in his eye, Tom embraced his identity as a "dad joke aficionado." His playful sense of humor created a warm atmosphere that illuminated any room he entered.

His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for hunting, especially during the yearly trips to Black Gap, TX, where he would indulge in quail hunting. Those adventures were filled with memories that his family will cherish for years to come. He always said that he would forever consider the Texas hill country his true home. In his free time, he liked to sit back and relax with a good book. Forever in the pursuit of knowledge, Tom would read whatever he could get his hands on.

Of all his proudest accomplishments, Tom took the greatest joy in his family, whom he loved dearly. His commitment to being a devoted husband and father shone through every moment spent with them. He was the beating heart of his family, nurturing their dreams and supporting them through life's ups and downs, crafting memories woven from love and laughter.

As family and friends gather to honor his legacy, a visitation will take place at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home and Cremation Services in White House, TN, on July 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Following this, a funeral service will commence at 2:00 PM, leading into the burial at White House Church of Christ at 3:00 PM. Family and friends are encouraged to meet at the cemetery following the funeral for a graveside service.

Tom Hagan will forever be remembered as a dedicated servant of God, a loving family man, and a genuine friend whose spirit continues to inspire and uplift. He has gone to be home with the Lord, where his impact will echo through eternity. The world is a quieter place without him, yet his influence will forever resonate in the hearts of those he touched.
