Freddie Ray Derrick, 83, of Goodlettsville passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at his home. Freddie was born March 4, 1935 in Albany, Texas to the late Roland Timothy and Ruby (Hill) Derrick. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Trixie Arnold and Gladys Ownings. Freddie was a "die hard Texan" who was extremely proud of the State of his birth. He was also an extremely proud Marine having served in the USMC for 7 years for his country. He was a diesel mechanic by trade and had worked for several area trucking companies. He was a man who could truly fix anything. Freddie was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He and his wife Bonnie (Riley) Derrick had been married for 61 years and were members of the Dickerson Road Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie; his daughter, Angela Derrick Redding and her husband Mike; his son, Brad Derrick; and his granddaughter, Michaela Hope Redding. A Celebration of Life service for Freddie will be held Monday at 2 PM at the Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville followed by interment with military honors at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 6 PM and Monday from 1 to 2 PM.
