Faye D. Carnahan, a sweet and nurturing soul, stopped dying and started living when she entered eternal rest on January 5, 2026, in Gallatin, Tennessee, at the age of 84. Born on September 8, 1941, in Lewisburg, TN, she radiated joy and warmth throughout her life, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
Faye dedicated many years of her life as a receptionist at Goodpasture Christian School. Those who worked alongside her remember not just a colleague, but a friend whose kindness and laughter created a welcoming atmosphere. She thrived on connections, a trait reflected in her vibrant personality; Faye was known for her clever wit, competitive spirit, and infectious smile.
Her greatest pride, however, lays in her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother she cherished and cared for her loved ones immensely, always ensuring they were taken care of. Faye’s love was unconditional, her nurturing spirit serving as the cornerstone of her family’s happiness. Her grandkids were the light of her life, and she made it a point to attend their sports games, proudly cheering them on from the stands.
Faye found joy in many hobbies; she was an avid cook, known for her extraordinary culinary skills. Family gatherings became a highlight, showcasing her talents and creating lasting memories over lovingly prepared meals. At home, she enjoyed watching sports, particularly the Atlanta Braves baseball games and tuned into basketball, where her enthusiasm only grew with each play.
Her creative spirit was further expressed through her sewing. As a long-time member of the Goodlettsville Church of Christ's Sewing Sisters, Faye passionately took on the task of making aprons and other garments for the church's mission trips. In her quieter moments, she frequently indulged in board games and card games, filling her home with laughter and friendly competition. When she was able, she would often relished the joy of bowling.
A woman of steadfast Christian faith, Faye was an active and longtime member of both the Madison Church of Christ and Goodlettsville Church of Christ. She devoted herself to serving her church community, where she assisted with parties and showers, creating a joyous atmosphere for her fellow members and loved ones celebrating babies, brides, and weddings.
Faye is preceded in death by her parents R.C. and Frances DeWire, and brother Phillip DeWire. She is once again reunited in heaven with her husband James Carnahan. Faye is survived by her children Tim (Melissa) Carnahan, Jeff (Linda) Carnahan, Keith (Lisa) Carnahan, grandchildren Katelin (Nate) Carper, Alden (Katie) Carnahan, Branston Carnahan, Nathan (Lauren) Carnahan, Mitchell (Ashley) Carnahan, Alyssa (Jonathon) Hedford, Ashton (Thomas) Werfel, and Allie (Brett) Richardson. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren: William, Camille, Carolyn, Mia, Jacob, Finley Beth, Walt, Evie Jane, Grady, as well as nieces and nephews.
Faye’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and unyielding support for her family and friends. Her spirit will forever linger in the hearts of those she has touched.
