Edward Houston Legge, a beloved member of the community, passed away on August 5, 2023. He was born on February 14, 1939, and his memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.

Edward had a fulfilling career that spanned over three decades at DuPont. With dedication and skill, he worked as a pipefitter and maintenance man, leaving an indelible mark on the company and his colleagues. His commitment to his craft was evident in every project he undertook.

Graduating from Goodletsville High School, Edward laid the foundation for a life filled with remarkable experiences. Throughout his life, he cherished the memories of attending Vanderbilt Football games with his son. These outings were special moments that fostered a deep appreciation for the game and created cherished memories that lasted a lifetime.

He could strike up a meaningful conversation with anyone he encountered, making them feel heard and valued. Edward's interests were diverse; whether it was discussing hunting or fishing, sharing his passion for Tennessee Titans football, or marveling at cars -- particularly his treasured 1958 Corvette -- he drew upon his vast knowledge to engage others in thoughtful discussions.

In addition to his professional achievements and personal interests, Edward proudly served in the United States Marine Corps., embodying traits of honor, discipline, and selflessness throughout his military service.

Beyond work and military service, Edward found solace in spending quality time with his cherished wife. Over the years, their shared love for homemade meals created countless moments of joy and warmth that will live on in the hearts of those they touched.

Edward was an esteemed member of the Old Hickory Masonic Lodge #598. The bonds he formed through this membership brought him immense pride while further exemplifying his commitment to his community.

Undoubtedly one of Edward's proudest accomplishments was the enduring friendships he cultivated during his time at DuPont. The camaraderie and support he shared with his colleagues enriched not only his professional life but also his personal journey.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret Elaine Walden Legge; son, Jeff Legge; brother-in-laws, Albert (Jan) Walden, Steve (Sharon) Walden, and Stuart (Pam) Walden; and mother-in-law, Doris B. Walden.
