Edna Elizabeth Dorris, passed away on May 7, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on August16, 1937, in Nashville, TN, Edna's life was characterized by her kindness, love, and compassion, embodying the spirit of a devoted Christian lady.
Throughout her life, Edna nurtured a family atmosphere filled with warmth and joy. She is survived by her children: Glenda Fendley, Arnold Dorris, Aron Dorris and his wife, Pamela, and Trena Dorris. Her legacy continues through her grandson, William Fendley, and her three great-grandchildren, Anniston, Aspen, and Azariah, who lovingly referred to her as Grandma.
Edna also cherished her brother, Elires "Patton" Morris and sister-in-law, Nancy Ann, along with her brother-in-law, Milton Dorris and sister-in-law, Diane. She is further remembered fondly by her nephew, Mike Griffin, and his wife, Wanda.
She was a faithful member of Robertson County church of Christ.
In her younger years, Edna engaged in a variety of hobbies and interests that brought her immense joy. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and playing card games, and fondly recalled her days of bowling.
She was predeceased by her husband, Monroe Dorris, who had been her partner through many journeys, and her six beloved siblings.
A Visitation will be held in her honor on May 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Goodlettsville, TN. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on the same day, with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Edna Elizabeth Dorris leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
