Dolores Cleaver

Dolores Zalis Cleaver, 87, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018. Born May 1, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dolores was the daughter of the late John W. and Esther L. (Ramsey) Zalis. She was also preceded in death by her son, Richard Cleaver. Dolores is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lori (Bob) Pospisil; her grandson, Major Kenneth (Daryl) Pospisil US Army and their children, Madeline, Levi, Archer and Harlow; her granddaughter Heather Pospisil (Cody) Sullins and their son Bennett; her granddaughter Kristina Pospisil (Caleb West); her brothers, Bob (Ginger) Zalis, Jack (Karen) Zalis, Joe (Joyce) Zalis; cousins, Pat, Janet. Marilyn and Scott; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members and many close friends. Dolores was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She began her career in education in Pennsylvania following her graduation from the Slippery Rock Teachers College. In 1962 she moved to South Florida where she received her masters degree and continued her career as an elementary school educator. Dolores retired as a school principal with the Palm Beach County School District in Florida. Last spring she moved to Tennessee to be with her daughter and closer to family. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania. Memorial contributions may be made to your local humane society.
