Dewayne D. Overby, Sr., 59, passed away Monday June 22, 2020. Born in Ashville, NC, March 14, 1961 the son of Edgar Overby and Virginia M. Stinette Overby. He graduated from Santa Fe High School and enlisted in the US Navy. After serving in the US Navy he entered the United States Marine Corps and continued to serve his country. Dewayne was a master electrician and HVAC man. He worked for Holiday Retirement Corp. in property management where he developed many programs for them. Dewayne was an avid UT Basketball and Football fan and he also enjoyed golfing. A family man, Dewayne was a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his sons, Dewayne (Alyssia) Overby, Jr. and Michael (Amanda Brown) Overby; daughters, Jenna Overby and Olivia Overby; step-daughter, Megan (Chase) Morgan; his grandchildren, James Overby, Raymond Overby, Austin Overby, Jaliyah Hardison, Haleigh Hardison, Alayna Overby, Riley Dewayne Overby and Kiley Overby; extended family and friends. Visitation for Dewayne will be held Friday from 4 to 7 PM and Saturday from 9 to 11 AM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville. A celebration of life service will be held at the funeral home Saturday at 11 AM followed by interment at Joelton Hills Memory Gardens.
