Charles Tyrone Allen of Hendersonville passed away on October 29, 2005 at the age of 73. He attended the University of the South and then served in the Army for 2 years during the Korean War. He started the Nashville Wholesale Molding Company in 1960 and moved to Hendersonville in 1961. He joined the Hendersonville First Baptist Church in 1961. Mr. Allen is survived by his loving wife of 47 years; Nita Allen. He is also survived by his children; Melanie Mike Tummons and Andrea Rick Haynes, both of Hendersonville. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alex Charles Tummons, Claire Tummons, Hannah Haynes and Houston Haynes, also of Hendersonville, as well as his sister, Evelyn Burch of Birmingham, AL. Visitation will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home on Sunday, October 30, 2005 from 2 - 6 PM and on Monday, October 31, 2005 from 4 - 8 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am, Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at the Hendersonville First Baptist Church with Dr. Glenn Weekly and Bill Gruenewald officiating. Interment will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Mark Powers, Steve McDuffie, John Prince, Jimmie Greenway, Gary Patterson, Jack Chaffin, Alex Tummons and Terry Grisham. Honorary pallbearers will be Mel Arnold, Bruce Hester, Jim Hayes, Bill Greer, Fig Newton, Leroy Nutter, Todd Burwell, Danny Smith, Allen Harrison, Dr. Paul Enoch, Bill Gruenewald, and the Fred Bracey Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
