10:30 - 11:30 am (Central time)
Charles “Chuck” Crockett Hurst, Jr., born on September 26, 1949, in Clarksville, TN, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Dolores, with whom he shared nearly 32 years of marriage and a love story that defined his life.
Chuck and Dolores often said they simply “loved love.” Over the years they renewed their vows several times, joyfully celebrating the life they built together. They cherished traveling side by side, and Chuck especially loved riding his motorcycle through the Great Smoky Mountains, one of his favorite ways to experience the beauty of the world.
Chuck proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, including time stationed in Thailand. The experiences and memories from his time there stayed with him throughout his life, and he often fondly recalled them, sometimes over a plate of curry from his favorite Thai restaurant.
Following his military service, Chuck dedicated more than 30 years of hard work to General Electric before retiring. In retirement, he devoted himself fully to caring for Dolores during her battle with cancer, a final and profound act of love and devotion.
Later in life, Chuck and Dolores embraced one of their greatest joys: becoming grandparents. Together they poured their love into their family, grateful for the chance to experience that special role.
Survived by daughter, Wendy Burnside, Brothers, Gary and Michael Hurst, stepchildren, Terry (Maryette) Pedersen, Jason (Stacy) Jesperson, Leeann Jesperson, Lyndsey Jesperson Steen and James H. (Cassie) Jesperson.
Preceded in death by his parents Charles and Helen Hurst.
He will be remembered for his loyalty, kindness, and the enduring love he shared with Dolores and his family. Chuck leaves behind a legacy of devotion, friendship, and a life defined by love. He is now at peace, reunited with Dolores.
In lieu of flower donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Graveside service is Monday, April 27 at 10:30am, Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville TN.
