Catherine Louise Norris passed away on July 19, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on April 3, 1941, in Goodlettsville, Catherine exemplified kindness and warmth throughout her life. Known affectionately as a mother to all, she radiated love and was adored by many who crossed her path.
A long-time member of Crossroads Church, her faith was an integral part of her identity, guiding her actions and interactions with others.
Every day, Catherine put her family first. She had an extraordinary gift for making those around her feel special. Her home was always open, welcoming anyone who needed a good dose of her famous pastries, delicious pies, or her signature side dish of cornbread and pinto beans. Grandchildren particularly enjoyed the smell of her kitchen, where she spent countless hours canning food and creating culinary delights that brought joy to family gatherings. Outside of the ever-busy kitchen, her grandchildren fondly remember her dedication to completing online games, particularly Tetris. Catherine approached life with a playful spirit, often cracking jokes or sharing a witty remark that could lighten any mood. On the hard days, she was the one everyone turned to; a wealth of knowledge, she seemed to have advice or guidance for any topic.
Survived by her devoted daughter, Nancy (Mark) Hall, Catherine’s legacy lives on through her beloved grandchildren: Corey (Alisha) Norris, Kyle Hall and his fiancé, Deanna, and granddaughter Harley Hall, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren Ethan, Addyson, Abbigayle, Alexander, Aria, and Angelita. Catherine also leaves behind her adoring brother, Bobby (June) Escue, and her treasured sisters, Nellie Miller, Helen Hunt, Marie Reed, and daughter-in-law, Michelle Norris.
Catherine is survived by her 25 nieces and nephews, with Cathy Barnes, Faye Elmore, Barbara Lewis, great nieces Brooke Barnes and Lancie Adams, and great-great niece Emma, along with great-great nephews Waylon and Gunner, who held a special place in her heart.
Catherine is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Murphy and Thelma, her husband Chester, with whom she shared 28 wonderful years, and her son Thomas Norris. Her grandson Dwayne Norris, her brothers Frank, George, Tony, and Jimmy, her sisters Agnes and Martha, and her nephew Robert Miller, along with her nieces Regina Biggers, Donna Reed, and Felicia Escue, wait for her in eternal rest.
