SCHRUM, Carlos "J.R.", age 78 of West Nashville, passed away July 20, 2009. Mr. Schrum was preceded in death by his best friend, Mildred Leach. He is survived by his step-children, Betty Hudgins, Jimmy and Marylou Parker, Doug Hightower, and Wanda Nickens; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Thurman; and special friends at Christian Care Center of Cheatham County. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday July 23rd at 10:00 A.M. from the Chapel of West Harpeth Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-8 P.M. at WEST HARPETH FUNERAL HOME, 6962 Charlotte Pike, 615352-9400 www.harpethhills.com
