Brenda Gale Paul, age 75, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, passed away on October 31, 2026, in Nashville after a brief illness. Born on March 15, 1951, in Madison, Tennessee, to the late Claude and Marie Tolbert, Brenda was a lifelong resident of Middle Tennessee. She lived a life centered on home, family, and caring for others, and she will be remembered as a doting mother, a loving wife, and a friend to all.
A graduate of Goodlettsville High School’s Class of 1969. Growing up, her parents owned the Dairy Queen in Goodlettsville. Working with her parents instilled a wonderful work ethic. Brenda would end up devoting herself to her family. She was a wonderful mother and wife whose steady presence shaped the lives of those around her. Always busy and very active, she found joy in the everyday work of making a house into a warm and welcoming home.
Brenda had a gift for caring in ways both large and small. She was a wonderful cook, and her family especially remembers her amazing fried chicken. She loved shopping, decorating the house, and keeping everything neat and tidy. She was known for the special touch she brought to every season, especially Christmas, which she loved dearly. Her family will treasure the memory of the stockings she made for them, each one a reflection of her thoughtfulness and love.
She was also an animal lover and, above all, a giver. Brenda always wanted to make sure people were taken care of. Her proudest accomplishment was her family, and she was especially focused on her grandchildren. Among the memories they will carry forward are happy times at her house making playdoh together, simple moments that became lasting treasures because they were shared with her.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents Claude and Marie Tolbert, brother Randy Tolbert, and son Matthew A. Paul.
She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Mark A. Paul. Brenda was the absolute love of his life, and he already misses her dearly. She is also survived by her children William J. (Julie) Paul, Cynthia M. (Jeffery) Hagan, Margaret L. Paul, and Michael A. (Caitlin) Paul. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Abigail, Hannah, Bradley, Nicholas, Lucas, and Quinn, great grandson Stetson. She also leaves behind her fur babies, as well as many friends who she loved dearly.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Brenda on Friday, November 6, 2026, at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Goodlettsville, 127 N Main St, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
