Bobby Gene Clement, the youngest of 5 children, was born on February 2, 1931 in Nashville, TN to Albert Clement and Myrtle Powers Clement. After graduating from high school in 1949, Bob enlisted into the Navy. His term was extended when the Korean War broke out with Bob serving as a supply clerk aboard the U.S.S. Achernar, transporting troops and supplies to the military in South Korea and throughout the Pacific.

In 1971 Bob met and married the love of his life, Nina Carolyn Stair. Their sons Thomas Gene and Scott Eugene were born in 1972 and 1977. Bob and Nina were married almost 52 years and have 7 grandchildren. Their last 42 years, after living in 4 other states, were spent in their home in Jackson, TN.

Most of Bob's adult life was spent working as a territory manager for manufacturers in the water pump industry. He won numerous sales awards over the years and was recognized as a top salesman in his industry.  His last employer was Flint & Walling Company, based in Kendallville, IN. After over 28 years with them, Bob retired in 2004 at the age of 73. At that time Bob was traveling 6 states (TN, AL, MS, LA, AK, and MO).

Bob died peacefully, after 6 days of in-home hospice care, from congestive heart failure on August 24, 2023 at the age of 92. Both Tom and Scott were able to be there with him in his final days. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings; Gladys Smerchek, Carl, Grady and Clyde.
