Billie Dean Douglas, 91, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021. Born June 4, 1929 in Nashville, TN, She was the daughter of the late Thomas Jackson Tidwell and Bessie Lillian Green Tidwell. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Gilbert Douglas Sr.; a grandson, Gilbert Scott Douglas; and siblings, Thomas Jackson Tidwell, Jr., Johnny Tidwell, Travis Tidwell, Betty Hankins and Margaret Boynton. Billie Dean was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She valued family above all else and was a consummate homemaker and caregiver. A devout Christian she loved her church and had been a member of the East Nashville Free Will Baptist Church for more than 70 years. She loved music and singing and was known for her beautiful voice. Billie Dean also enjoyed cooking and yardwork on the family farm in Goodlettsville. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Gil (Linda) Douglas, Jr., David (Debbie) Douglas, Nat (Joyce) Douglas, and Tim Douglas; her sisters, Mary Lois Brandon, and Pat Moneypenny. She was also "Mawmaw" to her 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, February 1st at 12 noon at the First Baptist Church, 613 S. Main St., Goodlettsville, TN followed by interment at Good Springs Cemetery, Pleasant View, TN. Visitation will be held at the church, Monday from 10 am until 12 noon.
