Betty Jo Hollows, a beloved member of the Goodlettsville community, passed away on July 25, 2023, at the age of 87. She was born on August 3, 1935, in Goodlettsville, TN to Albert Worth Sloan and Bessie Mai Davis. Betty was one of nine siblings, which she is preceded in death by, who shared a close bond throughout their lives. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Leland Hollows; and  son-in-law, Eddie Diatikar.

Betty was a devoted Christian and an active member of the Cross Plains Church of Christ. She found solace and strength in her faith, which guided her through life's joys and challenges. Betty had a kind and giving nature and was always the first to show up with food whenever anyone needed support or comfort.

Family was everything to Betty. She cherished her role as a wife to her loving husband, Leland Hollows. Their marriage was filled with love and companionship that lasted a lifetime. Betty and Leland created a warm and welcoming home where their children, Wanda Diatikar Hicks (Dennis), Terry Hollows (Cynthia), and Ellen Yates (Vernon), were raised with love and care.

As "Granny" to her grandchildren, Betty showered them with affection and made sure they always knew how special they were to her. She leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories for her grandchildren: Kim Diatikar, Jenny Townsend (Aaron), Erik Diatikar (Amy), Kyle Diatikar (Jo Carol), Jarod Hollows (Caitlin), Hayden Hollows, Jeremy Yates (Dana), and Bryan Yates (Lacey). In addition to her grandchildren, Betty was blessed with eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Throughout her life, Betty brought warmth into the lives of those she met. Her presence lit up the room, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Her kindheartedness touched many hearts in immeasurable ways.

A visitation will be held on July 30th from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Goodlettsville, TN. A second visitation will take place on July 31st from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 PM at the same location with Richard Garza officiating. Betty Jo Hollows will be remembered as a woman of faith, a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a kind and giving individual who always showed up for others. Her legacy of love and compassion will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Serving as pallbearers will be Erik Diatikar, Kyle Diatikar, Jeremy Yates, Bryan Yates, Jarod Hollows, and Hayden Hollows. Honorary Pallbearers will be her great grandsons.
