Betty Creel, age 79, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, after an extended illness. Known for her boundless kindness and unwavering devotion to family, Betty touched countless lives with her warmth and generosity.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruth Green, her brothers John and Jim Green, and her sister Dixie Creel. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Caldwell Creel; her daughter, Windy Mocko (Kenney); her son, Scott Creel (Shannah); her daughter, Susie Barnes (James); and her 9 grandchildren, Brandon Creel (Latisha), Jamie Barnes, Lindsey Barnes, Michael Barnes, Kimber Brannon (Collin), Sydney Creel (Gabe), Seth Daniels, Rachel Carroll (Dalton), Lincoln Mocko; and 3 great-grandchildren, Chaslyn Marney, Caylee Creel, and Walker Carroll.
Betty is also survived by her brother Lee Green (Ann).
Beyond her role as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Betty found joy in creating beauty around her. A master gardener, talented artist, and avid quilter, she completed over 100 quilts—many of which she lovingly donated to charities and community organizations. Her legacy of love, creativity, and service will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her.
Visitation will be held on February 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville, TN. A graveside service and burial will follow at Springfield Memorial Gardens in Springfield TN.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
