Barbara Tornquist

Barbara Tornquist, 74, of Westmoreland passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at her home. Born February 4, 1946 in Ferndale, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Sonner and Virginia Bigelow Guthrie Sonner. Barbara was a simple and kind-hearted woman. She loved her family and truly cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved the older Grand Ole Opry music, loved to dance, and loved to cook in the good southern tradition. In her spare-time she could often be found enjoying soap operas, the food network or playing games on her computer. She particularly enjoyed her trips to the casinos in Michigan. Barbara is survived by her son, James (Theresa) Tornquist; grandsons, Anthony Tornquist, and James (Allison) Tornquist; granddaughters, Nikole Bradford and Kristen Tornquist; sisters, Carol Oldham and Dawn (Don) Estes; nieces, Jennifer Lanius, Bethany Brooks and Lindsay Brooks; and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, TN from 2 - 5 PM Sunday, November 22nd. A graveside service will be held at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkely, MI.
