RUSHING, Mary, age 63, of Nashville, born June 5, 1948; passed away October 30, 2011 after her fight with Cancer. Mary was a special woman and adored by many. She was blessed with a loving husband of 44 years, John. Her marriage to John was the happiest of blessings for both and they have built a strong Christian family with that love. John and Mary are true soul mates, fitting perfectly together like pieces of a puzzle designed by God. She was a wonderful mother to John Rushing II and Andrea Rushing Black. She was loved by many friends and will be missed tremendously. She loved celebrations and family gatherings, and often filled the house with charming scents from the kitchen. I spent several years of my early childhood with Mary Evelyn while my parents worked — great memories of honey buns, playing in the school playground behind their house, and laughing with “Little” John. She was a wonderful, caring woman and will be missed.

    John, Andrea and extended family:
Please know our hearts go out to all of you today. Even though we May not want to sing PRAISES, you “KNOW” your precious mom is singing the loudest!

We will carry you in prayer and know we love you.

    Ps 100: 4-5
Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

To John and family, please accept our deepest sympathy and condolences for your loss. Although we never had the pleasure of meeting Mary, we both believe that we did meet her through JR John. It is quite evident that both of you raised a good and Godly family. We are charged to be a light to the world and with Mary’s passing it just got a bit dimmer. May God continue to bless you and your entire family, and continue to be with you during these difficult times.

In Christ, Ken and Pam Harms

    JR,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of sorrow. Let not your heart be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye May be also.
