Rick was a great supporter of beginner and independent songwriters. He came to many of the songwriter open mikes that are done thru out Nashville. We miss him very much and remember him often. I’ll remember everything he shared with me.h

We saw Rick the night before he had his operation. The next day, Nashville flooded, so we never had a chance to see each other again.
We consider that a great loss and our trip to Nashville this year will really be a sad trip!

I will always treasure the night we had at the Orlinda, TN farm. The evening was perfect with Rick and Bill Phillips entertaining. He was one of my aunt’s brothers, but I had never been able to meet him until the concert. Rest In Peace.

I was in Nashville one weekend for a bachelorette party. We called our group the Boot Scootin’ Bachelorettes and, as luck would have it, we ended up at the Nashville Palace one night where we met (and fell in love with) Rick. He sang for us and even came off the stage to dance with us. Our group spent at least an hour after closing just talking to him in the parking lot after the Palace closed. We could have listened forever and hated for the night to end! It was just one chance meeting, but one that we will never forget. Rick was a sweetheart and will be missed! Your family is in our prayers.

Wow, I can just imagine all the commotion in heaven as you join the family band of Angels with your wonderful Blaylock harmony. It makes me smile just thinking about it…wondering what my parents, Ray and Thelma Hoyle, might be singing with your folks and all the ones past. God bless you and your family Rick. I will be straining my ears listening for the magical music.

Our heartfelt sympathy to all the Blaylocks. My best memory is the first time I met Rick and his family. His mother had just died and the family was staying with us at The Walker Inn. Rick, with his special gift of music, and his father and other family members played the most awesome mountain spiritual music. In spite of all the sadness, Rick, at time, was able to lift our spirits. It was so obvious that he loved his parents and his family. It was a night that I will forever cherish.

I looked forward to Rickメs visits to North Carolina for the Blaylock family reunions. I laughed a lot with him during those visits. I am heavy with sadness right now, but I know that through my memories I can regain the joy. My biggest realization is that when Rick was with me, and others, he wrapped his heart around us. I love you Rick.

    Hi Lynne,

We were blessed to know Rick for the last 15 years or so. Rick worked with us for many years in the alarm business and I can honestly say, it was our pleasure & honor to see his smiling face every morning! I dont think I can remember a morning or a time, he did not give me a big hug or try to share a cup of coffee when I saw him. We loved to hear his stories, listen to his new songs and to just sit and laugh with him. He was so proud of his family and he bragged SO MUCH about that grandbaby… The last time I saw him he had to pull out the pictures and show me… He was a very special man with a heart of gold!

God Bless you and your family…. We are sending prayers your way that God will provide comfort during this time.

    To Rick’s Family…

I wish I could be there to offer strength for the days ahead to you in person however I cannot. My prayers, love and support are with you.

I am very proud to be Rick’s cousin. Rick always drew a crowd when he was home for the Blaylock reunion but he never seemed to mind it. (He made us feel like he actually enjoyed it)

Draw strength through the prayers, love and support you will receive and look to God when you feel weak and he will help you get through the tough days ahead. Keep your cherished memories close and Rick will be with you always… Gone but never forgotten…

    May God Bless You!

    Lynne and Family,
Our prayers are with your family right now. Only met you all once at the Blaylock reunion ages ago, but looked forward to the stories mom and dad told us later. I know Dad and Mom would have liked to come, but sometimes their age restricts them. I am very proud of my Blaylock heritage even though I didn’t get any of the talent. Just know we are praying.
