Michael Shane McKenzie, 34, of Gallatin, TN passed away July 4, 2012. Shane was born March 4, 1978 in Nashville, TN. He graduated Hendersonville H.S. 1997. Shane was an avid golfer, had a passion for animals and took great pride in his work with the McKenzie family businesses. He relished the friendships he developed over the 10 years he devoted to his work there. He was a caring and loving uncle to his niece, and his four nephews. Shane is survived by his parents, David and Beverly, Gallatin, his brothers, Chad, Nashville, Josh and wife Tiffany, Gallatin, maternal grandparents, Rev. Felix and Lorraine Snell, Gallatin, four nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents David McKenzie Sr. and J.R. and Faye West, all of Cleveland, TN. Arrangements are handled by Hendersonville Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Friday, July 6, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be held at Gallatin First United Methodist Church, 1:00 P.M., Saturday July 7, 2012, with visitation beginning at 11:00 A.M. The service will be officiated by Rev. Felix Snell and Dr. Ted Hill, with interment following at the Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory may be made to The Salvus Center.     I was told of Shane’s passing today. I wish my words could ease the pain your family and friends are feeling. I know in my heart that GOD has a great person in his kingdom. One more angel to watch over you. Celebrate the time he was here on earth and embrace the memories you all can share. I only knew Shane for a short time, but he made an impact in my life.     David, I have done business at McKenzie Jewelers for years. And, although I never had the opportunity to meet Shane, I have no doubt that he was as much a pleasure to meet and to do business with as I have always found you to be. I am so very sorry that you and your wife have to suffer such a loss. There are no words that could possibly offer comfort. I just pray you’ll find some comfort in knowing members of the community, even those of us not well known by you, are keeping each of you and your family members in our prayers.     I was just sitting here thinking of all the things me and my bro did together the trips the sports me and him loved to play golf tennis together he was real competitive the past 4 years we had taken snow ski trips just me him and my better half we got really good too . Me and him rode snowmobiles At Snowshoe west Virginia it was amazing. Shane loved the snow as much as he loved tornadoes I’m really gonna miss him . Thank you all for your condolences
